Street photographer Sanford “Sandy” Kreger (1934-2018), who co-owed Untitled , an art print shop in NYC, and founded Editions East in Hinsdale, Mass, produced this composite triple portrait of John Lennon using images from a series of photographs he took of the former Beatle in February 1977 while Lennon, Yoko Ono and Sean Ono Lennon vacationed in Stockbridge, Massachusetts . On their trip the Ono-Lennons stopped at a vintage clothing store and donned various costumes while posing for Kreger. This print was produced between 1977 and 1978. The print (or possible screen print?) measures 16 x 20 inches and is printed on heavy, high quality, matte art paper. It is titled, numbered by and signed by Kreger using a silver pen. There are two copies and both are in fine condition. Number 15 has a few surface marks with one mark deep the paper. Number 16 and a less than .25 inch tear along the edge. If matted some of these imperfections would be hidden. See the photos for more details. I’ve also included an image of the original composite photo from which this was taken.
