LucasFilm Assures ABC News Star Wars Spinoffs Are Still On
Star Wars Spinoffs Still On: ABC New has confirmed that according to a source inside LucasFilm, multiple Star Wars spin off movies are currently in production. It was initially reported by Collider that due to the weak box office sales of Solo: A Star Wars Story, the Spinoff movie had been given the Axe. After a few days of silence LucasFilm has finally spoken out to refute these claims and announce that the Spinoff movies are still very much in production. As we already know in December it was announced that Riann Johnson (Looper, Brick) would be at the helm of a new Star Wars Trilogy. At the same time it was also declared that D.B. Weiss and David Benioff (Game of Thrones, The 25th Hour, Troy) would also be creating a completely separate Star Wars Trilogy. These Spinoff films will be completely independent from both these trilogies.
The Force is with Obi Wan & Boba
It is no secret that Obi Wan Kenobi and Boba Fett are the two characters within Star Wars Canon that most fans would love to see on the big screen. However when it comes to Obi Wan Kenobi, there is a huge following that want Ewan McGregor to reprise his role as the Jedi Master. McGregor has recently said he would be open to playing the Jedi again. While nothing has been officially announced, it is hard to believe that Disney has not seen the massive amount of fan support for McGregor.
“I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced.” – Obi Wan Kenobi
Yoda: “I cannot teach him. The boy has no patience.”
Obi-Wan: “He will learn patience.”
Yoda: “Hmm. Much anger in him, like his father.”
Obi-Wan: “Was I any different when you taught me?”
